The Artful Individual
I desire to create art. More primary however, is my desire to be art.
Being is the foundation of art. We first create selves of art, then we create works of art.
The occupation of an artist is to create an interior of beauty so as to create things which are beautiful, in whichever medium they choose.
The most profound poem cannot be encoded or created through analysis. Though it is created through much travail, it is created through the simplicity of an already artful being.
A profound work of fiction cannot be done by one who has not already artfully created themself, not even through the utmost effort.
Sure, some may stumble upon pieces of beauty but the likelihood of conjoining many pieces into one corpus diminishes with each sentence.
The true artist is surprised by the beauty they create and are wont to scorn it. The instant the work is finished, it ceases to partake in the continual creation of self. It therefore stales.
Once petrified, the artist may look upon it again and appreciate it in retrospect, as one appreciates a more youthful version of oneself in a photo.
The artful individual must create art. It spills from them. The desire to release what grows inside expands until a medium is found to express it. Discourse…
